Zulfi Bukhari, the fugitive and self-proclaimed exiled leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, has thanked the members of Parliament and the House of Lords of Great Britain for raising their voice on the arrest of Imran Khan.
In a statement on the social networking site X, Zulfi Bukhari said that he thanked the members of the British Parliament and the House of Lords who wrote a letter on the illegal arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and the deteriorating human rights situation in Pakistan. He wrote that Kim Johnson MP and other members took important steps in favor of the Pakistani people while British Foreign Secretary David Lammy expressed his views on the matter while replying to the letter.
Zulfi Bukhari said that people are suffering untold hardships due to the actions of the current government in Pakistan, free and transparent elections, rule of law, and an independent judiciary are the foundations of democracy. The people of Pakistan are constantly struggling for the democratic rights which have been usurped by the present government.
